Method of cleaning firearm barrel channel surfaces from scorching consists in using gaseous fluorine which, upon interaction with deposit, changes its structure and makes it loose. Gas cartridge represents a common cartridge with powder fluorocarbon added to the powder charge. At initiation of powder charge fluorocarbon is decomposed with separation of gaseous fluorine. After that, either standard ammunition is fired, or mechanical cleaning is performed by means of bannery or ramrod.
