FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device for studying rotational motion of non-holonomic systems has two hollow thin-wall truncated cones fixed on a thin-walled tube. During rotary movement of the device, its instantaneous axis of rotation is visualized. Replacement of fixed cones with cones of another diameter makes it possible to visualize axes at various ratios of device length to maximum diameter of the device.
EFFECT: device makes it possible to carry out a visual experiment for studying of one of the most difficult sections of the course of general physics, read both in universities, and in higher educational institutions of engineering orientation – mechanics of solid body.
