SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the automotive industry. Pneumatic tire includes tread, which is equipped with grooves determining tread pattern. Tread pattern grooves include outer shoulder main groove and outer main groove of crown extending continuously and in zigzag manner in tire lengthwise direction. Outer shoulder main groove consists of alternating long sections and short sections, which are inclined relative to longitudinal direction of tire to outer edge of tread. Inclination angle θb of short sections of groove is greater than angle θa of inclination of long sections of groove. Width of long sections of the groove gradually increases towards the outer edge of the tread.

EFFECT: technical result is improvement of running characteristics of tire on snow-covered road surface.
