FIELD: household items and household appliances.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of various types of domestic and industrial cast-iron articles, particularly, to production of kitchen ironware for food preparation. Method of making cast-iron dishes and other cast-iron articles includes casting grey cast iron into casting mould for casting, mechanical processing of casting, including removal of gating springs, roughing, grinding, polishing, sand blasting of casting and formation of protective coating from iron oxide layer by its heating and immersion into oil after heating. When forming protective coating on casting from iron oxide layer, double-quarter cast heating is performed to temperature of 570–800 °C, immersing it in oil after each heating and washing after each immersion in oil.
EFFECT: technical result is high corrosion resistance to aggressive media and longer service life.
