SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for driving a mined-out space in an underground mine and to a method for driving a mined-out space in an underground mine working through a similar device. Device comprises rotary drive, axial shaft, which by means of rotary drive is made with possibility of rotation about longitudinal axis, precisely one drum working member, which is made with possibility of rotation around the drum rotation axis, and connecting device, which is connected to the axial shaft and serves as a support for the drum working member, at that, connection device is made so that drum axis of rotation and lengthwise axis in all working positions lie in one plane and are oriented in direction of sinking at acute angle to each other. At the same time drum-type working element in radial direction of device extends at least along working radius of the device at driving of mined-out space. According to the method, for one sinking cycle, at first, the drum working member during rotation from the initial position to the supply position is rotated only around the drum rotation axis, and after reaching partial axial pitch drum working element in addition to rotation around rotation axis of drum is rotated around longitudinal axis.

EFFECT: increased rate of penetration at compact and thus universal in use, comparatively simple and mechanically strong structure.
