FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and can be used to determine content of opal-C and cristobalite product, which contains diatomite. Method may include performing heat treatment to determine losses for calcination for a representative first portion of a sample of product, identification and quantitative determination of primary and secondary peaks present in the first diffraction pattern, which is obtained as a result of diffraction of X-ray radiation in the volume of the powder on the representative second part of the sample, and using a known standard cristobalite sample to determine whether primary and secondary peaks present in the first diffraction pattern show the presence of opal-C or cristobalite in the product.
EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of obtained survey data.
