FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to finely dispersed silicon dioxide powders. The following is proposed: a method of processing crystalline silicon dioxide including the stage of grinding crystalline silicon dioxide together with a substance in an amount of 0.05 to 1.00% by weight, selected from the group consisting of polyhydric alcohols, kaolin, aluminum alkoxides and mixtures thereof. A composition of crystalline silicon dioxide obtained by the claimed method with reduced cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory potential and the use of polyhydric alcohols, kaolin and aluminum alkoxide to reduce the cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory potential of crystalline silicon dioxide are also proposed.
EFFECT: proposed method makes it possible to obtain crystalline silicon dioxide with reduced cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory potential.
