SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of controlling a vehicle drive system with an internal combustion engine. Result is achieved by the fact that after performing (S1, S2) at least one condition for activation of protection against exceeding permissible speed of rotation of drive system, protection against exceeding of permissible rotation frequency is activated, at which mode of generator of electrically operated turbo compressor operated on exhaust gases is started.

EFFECT: technical result is to provide protection against exceeding permissible speed of drive system.
