SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and device for automated selection of fellow passengers when buying tickets for transportation. Method comprises, in a booking system comprising at least one processing center, one or more interaction interfaces, placing proposed by carrier list of tickets in computer system of processing center, customers scanning said list, identify themselves and pay a ticket for the selected flight through an interaction interface, characterized in that the list of tickets placed in the computer system of the processing center comprises the details of passengers who have already purchased tickets for a particular flight, and after payment of ticket passenger places in processing center through interaction interface information on his preferences relative to accommodation in cabin taking into account information on location, including details of neighbors on cabin, after completion of the process of receiving orders for a flight, the processing center places the seats in the cabin that best matches the preferences (parameter values) specified in the order; information on the location informs the buyer.
EFFECT: technical result consists in automation of selection of fellow passengers when buying tickets for transportation.
