FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to creation of sheet from electromagnetic steel coated with insulating film with suitable hardness and suitable for use as material for iron cores, for example, large-size electric power generators; as well as to a method of making a sheet from electrical steel coated with an insulating film. Coating material for formation of insulating films contains solvent and components (A)–(D) contained in it in appropriate quantities in terms of solid. Component (A) is a water-miscible carboxylated resin in amount of 100 parts by weight in terms of content of solid substance. Component (B) is an aluminum-containing oxide in amount of more than 40 parts by weight, but less than 300 parts by weight in terms of content of solid substance relative to component (A). Component (C) is at least one cross-linking agent selected from a group consisting of melamine, isocyanates and oxazoline in an amount of at least 100 parts by weight, but less than 300 parts by weight in terms of content of solid substance relative to component (A). Component (D) is a titanium-containing oxide in amount of more than 10 parts by weight, but less than 300 parts by weight in terms of content of solid substance relative to component (A). Method of making a sheet from electrical steel involves forming an insulation coating on one or both sides of a coating sheet by applying said coating material thereon.
EFFECT: invention provides creation of sheet from electrical steel with insulating coating, having corresponding hardness, which is suitable for material of iron cores of large generators.
