SUBSTANCE: invention relates to space engineering. Proposed method comprises the following stages: - includes orientation of solar battery by normal to working surface on Sun; - measuring the current from the solar battery and monitoring the performance of the solar battery based on the results of comparing the current measured current values and current values measured at previous flight stages; - construction and maintenance of spacecraft orientation in orbital coordinate system; successively turning the solar battery into fixed positions; - measuring current from solar battery at moments of contact of solar disk top surface boundary with sun disk visible from spacecraft at sunset on turns; determining current value of distance from the Earth to the Sun; during the flight, the actions described above are repeated and the solar battery performance is controlled based on the results of comparison of current values and current values obtained from the previous flight stages from the solar battery.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of measuring efficiency of solar battery of spacecraft.
