FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of machine building, in particular to the railway vehicles brake pads, operating in the tribocontact with the wheel rolling surface. Railway vehicle pad includes a metal frame and the composite friction element, into which the silicon manganese particles are introduced. During the pad and the wheel tribocontact, due to the pad surface layers high temperatures and the high pressures and loads, the silicon carbide and the silicon dioxide nanosized particles are formed.
EFFECT: enabling reduction in the microcracks number in the wheel working surface, its wear, as well as increase in performance.
