FIELD: methods and devices for metal processing.
SUBSTANCE: station for assembling pipes for supporting tools during execution of operations at a mounting junction during assembly of pipes includes an active guide passing around the hole through which the pipe can pass. Tool supports are arranged to move along active guide around pipe periphery. Station also comprises a waiting position related to the active guide, and a transfer configured to move the tool slide from the active guide to the waiting position. Due to creation of such combination of guide and waiting position tool support can be moved to position on active guide for operation on connection of pipes and then withdraw into standby position, where it does not interfere with other operations on pipe. Such a transfer structure allows more effective use of limited space around the joint. Also disclosed are a system for assembling pipes, a pipe-laying vessel, tool support and a method of operating a station for assembling pipes.
