FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of aiming at firing a fighter aircraft by maneuvering air target. For aiming, target type (8) is determined, its wings span (3) is entered into calculator, projected route of projectiles (5) is calculated. Signal of predicted route of shells (5) is displayed, gripping and autotracking of visually visible target (8) is performed, angular coordinates of air target (8) are measured and sight ring (9) determining direction to tracked target (8) is indicated. Diameter of sight ring (9) is set equal to the angular size of wings span (3) of target (8) for the range for which the longitudinal coordinate of the projected projectile route (5) is equal to the current longitudinal angular coordinate of tracked target (8). Maneuver of the aircraft is moved by visible target (8) and sight ring (9) along the indicated predicted route of projectiles (5), when touching the ends of the wings of target (8) of the framing sight ring (9), fire is opened. Note here that lateral aiming error is generated in the form of deviation of current lateral angular coordinate of tracked target (8) from predicted projectile route (5), aircraft control signal proportional to lateral aiming error is generated, and it is summed up with aircraft manual control signal.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of aiming at angular tracking of maneuvering air target and absence of range measurements due to partial automation of aircraft control.
