FIELD: military equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to military equipment and can be used in development and use of ammunition with warheads forming impact nuclei. According to the method, after discharge from ammunition, warheads fall to the ground, making circular motions. At that, terrain in zone of combat elements falling is scanned by sensors installed on these elements. These sensors allow fixing an armored target in the direction of the firing element falling. Besides the target identification sensors, a radar sensor is mounted on the combat element, which is used to record the moment when the combat element is lowered below the specified height from the ground surface. Metal grid is installed before lining, from which impact nuclei are formed. When an armored target is found, a grate is fired from the firing element and the firing element explodes. Under action of flat detonation wave in explosive substance of fighting element one large nucleus is formed. In case the combat element has fallen to the height below the preset one, and the armored target was not detected, a control command is sent from the sensor-radar to another operating mode. Command is sent to blasting of explosive by creation of spherical wave of detonation. At the same time thin metal lining is thrown towards metal grate, dissections of lining into separate fragments. In the form of multiple nuclei they fly in direction of falling of warhead, creating a large area of destruction.
