FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to therapy and cardiology, and concerns treating or preventing atherothrombotic events in patients with myocardial infarction in the past history. For this purpose, a pharmaceutical composition containing 60 mg of ticagrelor is orally administered twice a day to a patient who suffered myocardial infarction 12 months ago. Composition is administered in a combination with aspirin, which is introduced in a daily maintenance dose of 75–150 mg.
EFFECT: it provides statistically significant reduction of the lethal outcome rate as a result of cardiovascular diseases, myocardial infarction or stroke due to effective prevention of thromboembolic complications in the given group of patients.
