FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: complaints and medical history of the patient with ischemic heart disease are collected including the therapy and the clinical course of IHD; echocardiography is performed. The following criteria are analysed: complaints of laboured breathing, unstable clinical course of ischemic heart disease in the past medical history, pre-admission administration of diuretics; disturbed regional contractility with or without left ventricular aneurysm, rheumatic or atherosclerotic stenosis of any cardiac valve according to the echocardiography findings. An index of the risk of remote death and nonfatal cardiovascular complications (RINDEX) in the patients with chronic ischemic heart disease is derived as the total score of all the criteria. The risk of death and nonfatal cardiovascular complications is correlated with the derived RINDEX value.

EFFECT: invention enables evaluating the risk of remote complications accurately, specifying the optimal diagnostic and therapeutic approach, making a decision if a high-risk patient must be placed for high-technology treatment modalities on a priority basis.
