FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to infectious diseases, and can be used in the patients with acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) in the early period of the disease for the prediction of developing bacterial pneumonia. A method for prediction of the development of bacterial pneumonia in the patients with acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) involves determining on 3rd-4th day of the disease skin pH of the palmar surface of the lower one-third of the forearm and is characterized by that with a skin pH value of 4.48 to 4.79 with probability ≥95.5 % predict the development of bacterial pneumonia in the patients with acute respiratory viral infections within next 2-3 days, while the pH reading from 4.80 to 5.34 shows the same probability of the uncomplicated course of the disease.
EFFECT: invention can be used in the patients with acute respiratory viral infections (ARI) in the early period of the disease for the prediction of developing bacterial pneumonia.
