METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF NEUTROPENIA IN PATIENTS SUFFERING CHRONIC HEPATITIS C AND RECEIVING COMBINATION ANTIVIRAL THERAPY Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B8/00 G01N33/48

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to infectious diseases, and is applicable for prediction of neutropenia in the patients suffering chronic hepatitis C (CHC) and receiving a combination antiviral therapy (CAT). Pre-CAT blood serum viral load (VL, IU/ml), HCV genotype (genHCV), absolute neutrophil count (ANC_initial ×10⁹/l) are determined in the CHC patients. The method involves conducting indirect liver ultrasound fibroelastography, findings of which are used to determine a fibrosis level (F, kPa). A predicted minimum absolute neutrophil count (ANC_min ×10⁹/l) is calculated by means of multiple linear regression by formula. The predicted ANC_min≤1.3×10⁹/l are stated to indicate a risk of neutropenia development. ANC_min falling within the range from 1.0×10⁹/l to 1.3×10⁹/l enables predicting development of mild neutropenia; the values of 0.75×10⁹/l to 0.99×10⁹/l shows moderate neutropenia, whereas severe and extremely severe neutropenia are shown by the values of 0.5×10⁹/l to 0.74×10⁹/l and <0.5×10⁹/l, respectively.

EFFECT: method enables the accurate, fast and simple prediction ensured by assessing the most considerable values.
