FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to detection of suspicious users in messaging systems. Method includes performing operations, according to which: receiving from a messaging system a plurality of user messages; analyzing each received user message to detect at least one message suspiciousness feature; if at least one sign of suspiciousness of the message is detected, identifying at least one user associated with the analyzed user message; each of the identified users is assigned a suspiciousness estimate depending on the detected message suspiciousness features, each of which makes its specified contribution to the assigned susceptibility estimate, with provision for changing the reputation of the said user based on the assigned suspicion rating; users are included in at least one of said messaging systems to suspicious users in case the changed value of their reputation value exceeds the specified marginal threshold reputation.
EFFECT: more effective detection of user-intruders in instant messengers.
