FIELD: engine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines with exhaust gas recirculation systems (EGR). Engine control method (10) consists in that EGR channel (21) is opened and closed by means of control EGR valve (22). EGR-channel (21) provides recirculation of part of exhaust gas from outlet channel (12) into inlet channel (13). Basic adjustment of EGR control valve (22) is set based on current operating state of engine (10). Actual temperature of the exhaust system, which is the current temperature of the exhaust system, is read. Differential pressure in control EGR valve (22) is calculated based on actual temperature of exhaust system. Reference differential pressure is calculated, which is differential pressure in control EGR valve (22) in steady state corresponding to current operating state of engine (10). Reference ripple amplitude is calculated, which is amplitude of pulsation of reference differential pressure. Base opening is corrected based on differential pressure, reference differential pressure and reference amplitude of pulsation. Disclosed is engine control device.

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of correcting opening of control EGR valve.
