SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines equipped with EGR devices. EGR control unit is configured to control EGR device. EGR device includes EGR channel (10) and EGR valve (11). EGR channel (10) branches off from exhaust passage (7) of internal combustion engine (1) and is connected to inlet channel (2). EGR valve (11) is located in EGR channel (10). EGR control device (100) comprises an element for calculating the rated EGR ratio. Element for calculating the rated EGR ratio is configured to calculate the rated EGR ratio from the fresh air flow rate in the connection element of inlet channel (2) with EGR channel (10) and the EGR gas volume passing through EGR channel (10). Element for calculating the EGR ratio of the connection element is adapted to correct the rated EGR ratio based on the gaseous state within EGR channel (10) from EGR valve (11) to the connection element of inlet channel (2), when EGR valve (11) switches from the closed state to the open state. Element for calculating the EGR ratio of the connection element sets the rated EGR ratio as the EGR ratio of the connection element, which is the proportion of the EGR gas volume relative to the fresh air volume in the connection element. EGR control method for controlling the EGR device is disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result is to increase the accuracy of calculating the true EGR ratio.
