Vehicle heating system comprises fuel-operated heating device (16) with burner zone (18), air blower (20) for feeding combustion air to burner zone (18), fuel pump (26) for supplying fuel (18) to the burner zone and control device (40) for controlling air blower (20) for combustion and fuel pump (26). Control device (40) is designed to control air blower (20) for combustion and fuel pump (26) when receiving information on state of stay in water for the mode of staying in water.
EFFECT: possibility to avoid damages of heating system caused by state of stay in water.
