SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical equipment, namely to the secondary storage battery charging method, and can be used in the rechargeable storage battery containing the anode active material from lithium metal. Charging method is a multi-stage charging method of a rechargeable storage battery comprising a first charge, during which a rechargeable storage battery is charged at a first current density I1, and a second charge, during which the rechargeable storage battery is charged at the second current density I2, which is greater than the first current density I1, wherein when the height of the irregularities on the surface of the solid electrolyte layer on the side of the anode current-collecting foil is defined as Y (mcm), and thickness of coating irregularity of layer is defined as X (mcm), at first charge rechargeable storage battery is charged at first density I1 of current until when X/Y reaches value of 0.5 or more.
EFFECT: technical result of invention is prevention of short circuit in lithium battery with reduction of its charge time.
