FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and can be used for early prediction of quality of root formation of green cuttings of fruit and berry crops. For this purpose, modules of total electrical resistance of plant tissues of hefts are measured at two fixed frequencies simultaneously with cut of heft and their ratio is determined, which is a diagnostic parameter. Special knife is used with two electrically insulated blades made of material with high electrical conductivity in the form of sharpened parallel plates rigidly fixed on different sides on plate of specified thickness from electrically insulating material and electrically connected to inputs of device. Grafts are rejected by value of diagnostic parameter, in which value is less than threshold value determined for given crop in previous vegetation period.
EFFECT: invention provides higher reliability and efficiency of assessing the ability to root green grafts of plants.
