FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in vehicle internal combustion engines. Motor assembly and intake system for vehicle comprises engine (204) and modular inlet manifold (100). Modular inlet manifold (100) is configured in first arrangement for use in front-wheel-drive vehicle (200) or in second arrangement for use in rear-wheel-drive vehicle depending on location of drive wheels (202) of vehicle. Modular inlet manifold (100) comprises a continuous tubular distribution chamber (102) having first and second openings (118) and (120), located at opposite ends, with identical cross sections, and a row of longitudinally extending holes passing through distribution chamber (102), a throttle valve body connector (130), plug (150) and channels (104) for connecting distribution chamber (102) to motor (204). Longitudinal axis (116) of distributing chamber (102) is parallel to lengthwise axis (214) of engine (204). Dimensions of each of first and second holes (118) and (120) provide possibility of intake or connector (130) of throttle valve body or plug (150). Each of first and second holes (118), (120) is centred relative to longitudinal axis (116) of distributing chamber (102) and perpendicular to it. Throttle body connector (130) and plug (150) are interchangeable to provide first and second assemblies of modular inlet manifold (100). Invention discloses modular inlet manifold and method of providing inlet manifold.

EFFECT: technical result consists in creation of input manifold for engine with possibility of installation in various versions of engine location in vehicle.
