FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in devices for engine braking in vehicles. Device for engine braking has inlet system, exhaust system, gas exchange valves connected with internal combustion engine and turbo-charge from exhaust system by means of at least one turbo-supercharger (7) driven by engine exhaust system. Turbosupercharger (7) is integrated into exhaust system, intake system and engine braking unit. Engine braking unit has decompression motor brake, which influences at least one outlet valve and throttle valve, which is located in exhaust system and causes increased pressure of exhaust gases. Throttle valve (12) is located upstream and outside turbine supercharger (7) turbine (8) housing. Turbine (8) operates on exhaust gases driven by engine exhaust system. Throttle valve (12) is made as a flow-guiding gate, which influences gas flow access to turbine (8). Throttle valve (12) in open position opens full cross section of outlet opening leading to turbine (8). In intermediate positions up to full closing throttle valve (12) deflects flow of exhaust gases to rotor of turbine (8) so that flow of exhaust gases is accelerated due to narrowing of cross section and moves rotor of turbine (8). Disclosed are a method of operating an engine braking device and a vehicle.
EFFECT: technical result consists in simplification of design and in improvement of reliability at providing as low as possible low load of internal combustion engine in engine braking mode.
