FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used for sharpening of screw drills on universal sharpening machine. Sharpening is performed with subsequent finishing of screw drill rear and front surfaces. Sharpening is carried out by abrasive wheel with rotation speed of 20–30 m/sec, rate of transverse table feed of 0.04–0.06 mm/double-flow and table longitudinal feed rate of 1.7–2.3 m/min, and finishing is performed by diamond wheel with rotation speed of 12–18 m/sec, table transverse table feed rate of 0.005–0.01 mm/double-flow and table longitudinal feed rate of 1.5–2.0 m/min. When grinding and finishing of rear surface drill is positioned in separating head relative to direction of table at angle of 58–62° and at angle 0° dividing head spindle axis to table plane with continuous dividing head spindle rotation. When sharpening and finishing front surface drill is positioned in separating head at angle of 18–22° to table plane with its turning through 180° angle after sharpening of each cutting edge.
EFFECT: result is longer period of resistance and cutting ability of drill and reduced roughness of cutting edges.
