FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal processing. Sharpening by grinding wheel with diamond heads includes round of metal cutting tool to radius smaller than 3 mcm. Metal cutting tool is fixed at mandrel fitted on machine table. Grinding wheel working speed is set to 135-280 m/s. Machine table lengthwise feed rate is set to 3-9 m/min. Machine table crosswise feed rate is set to 0.01-0.06 mm/double stroke.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and quality of sharpening.
