SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video signals coding/decoding. Disclosed is a method of signaling additional color shift QP values, which are specific for quantization groups, wherein each quantization group explicitly sets its own set of color shift QP values. Alternatively, a table of possible sets of chroma shift QP values is set in the image header area, and each quantization group uses an index to select an entry from the table to determine its own set of chroma shift QP values. Specific quantization shift QP values of the quantization group are then used to determine chroma QP values for blocks within the quantization group, in addition to the color shift QP values already given for higher levels of the video signal coding hierarchy.
EFFECT: wider range of technical means for quantizing chromaticity for signaling additional chrominance parameter (QP) shift values.
