FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems and methods for disinfection (that is reducing the presence of bacteria and pathogenic organisms) of a liquid. Disinfection apparatus comprises a housing having an inner surface; pipeline installed inside housing and having inlet for liquid and outlet hole for liquid, wherein the pipeline is configured to carry the flowing fluid from the liquid inlet to the liquid outlet and has a first refraction index; shell located inside the housing, surrounding the pipeline and having a second refraction index, which is lower than the first refraction index; and light source connected to housing inner surface and located downstream of liquid inlet, wherein the light source is configured to generate disinfectant light and is arranged to emit disinfectant light through the pipeline towards the liquid outlet.
EFFECT: invention provides reduced liquid contamination.
