Abstract RU 2496523 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to an instrument used for contact and application of a liquid detergent on an attachment surface of a fluid connector, and for local clean out of the skin for medical applications. The declared instrument comprises a body with a major portion with a cylindrical or polyangular internal wall, an open end surrounded and stabilised by a flange having a ring surface, a closed end opposite of the open end, and two cavities in between the open end and closed end with the two cavities separated by a lateral packing sleeve. The instrument also comprises a sponge with a cleanser or disinfectant made of a non-latex compressible open cell material and placed inside the major portion fitting tight against the inner wall. The sponge can be pressed tight enough against the attachment surfaces to release an amount of the liquid detergent to said attachment surfaces when in use. The instrument has a removable cover on the open end of the body for further addition of the liquid detergent into the inserted sponge; the cover is removable before using the instrument, and wherein a portion of the inserted sponge is expendable outwards from the body, thereafter removing the removable cover from the open end.

EFFECT: declared invention provides the effective mechanical clean out and disinfection of the fluid connector surfaces used in medicine.
