To increase impact strength while maintaining high strength of steel parts, the method of producing a hardened compacted part includes a first heat treatment process comprising heating the workpiece steel material to temperature higher than the Ac₃ conversion point for austenitic transformation, and then cooling for martensitic conversion or bainitic conversion, and a second heat treatment process comprising heating the steel material which has undergone the first thermal treatment process to a temperature higher than the Ac₃ conversion point for austenitic transformation, and then cooling for martensitic transformation. After steel material has been heated to temperature higher than Ac₃ conversion point in at least one process from a first heat treatment process or a second heat treatment process, pressing is performed at a temperature higher than the Ar₃.
