SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of producing ammunition cases and, in particular, artillery projectiles, min. Method of making ammunition bodies consisting of a shell and a bottom part includes making a workpiece of a bottom part using hot machining from a rod. At that, provision is made for the workpiece of the shell by mechanical machining by cutting from the pipe, for machining by machining workpieces of bottom part and shell with semi-finished dimensions. Non-detachable connection of shell and bottom part is ensured by friction welding. Then thermal treatment of non-detachable connection zone is provided, machining is machined by cutting for crimping and crimping ogival part, heat treatment, machining by cutting of ammunition body into finish size. There is a version of fabrication of shell workpiece from several parts with further obtaining of their permanent connection by means of friction welding.

EFFECT: high manufacturability of the fabrication, which increases efficiency of manufacturing while reducing the cost of articles.
