SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ZSM-5 zeolite microspheres for use as a catalyst, a catalyst component or an intermediate catalyst product for hydrocarbon conversion processes, formed 1) forming a mixture in microspheres, in which the mixture contains a silica-based material and a plurality of particles selected from a group comprising at least one high-density material with an absolute bulk density of at least 0.3 g/cm3, ZSM-5 zeolite crystals and combinations thereof; 2) by calcining microspheres and 3) reacting and then heating the microspheres with at least one alkaline solution to form ZSM-5 zeolite in situ on microspheres, wherein ZSM-5 zeolite microspheres contain no more than 8 wt. % of clay or calcined clay material.
EFFECT: technical result consists in obtaining in situ a catalyst from zeolite ZSM-5 with high resistance to abrasion with microspheres, virtually free of clay thickeners and/or ZSM-5.
