FIELD: fur production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fur production. Method for treating fur pelts includes stages of soaking, scouring, pickling, tanning and filling. At that, at the stage of soaking, a modifier is additionally added to the solution in amount of 2.0–2.5 % of the fresh dry material weight, and the semi-finished product filling stage is carried out by treatment with a modifying agent solution in a mixture of an organic solvent and water, wherein amount of modifier is 2.0–2.5 % of weight of semi-finished product. Modifier is an amino resin modified by a low-molecular aliphatic alcohol of formula

where R=-CH₂CH₃ or -CH(CH₃)_2. Proposed method for processing fur skins allows processing of fur skins with weak leather fabric, such as hare skins and rabbit skin of early slaughtering.

EFFECT: when using the method, weak skin tissue is strengthened, heat resistance is improved, skin properties are leveled by topographic sections while maintaining hygienic properties of the processed hides.
