FIELD: light industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to light industry and can be used for processing hockskins from skins of horses, moose, elk and cattle. Method of hockskins treatment involves soaking of hockskins, pickling, tanning and fat-liquoring. At that pickling is performed once, and after it the skins are squeezed to relative humidity of 55–65 %. Tanning is performed together with fat-liquoring by a covering with "water-in-oil" emulsion containing a tanning agent solution and fat-liquoring materials, by double application of emulsion on leather fabric of skin with intermediate aging for 6–8 hours with total consumption of emulsion 6–7 g per dm2.
EFFECT: proposed method of processing hockskins from skins of horses, elk and cattle provides obtaining quality raw materials suitable for sewing winter shoes and other products, reduction of water consumption and duration of liquid processes, elimination of solid wastes.
