FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: technical solution relates to chemical engineering, particularly to methods of producing granulated materials from melts and solutions, and can be used in chemical and other industries. Proposed method of producing granulated materials involves feeding a product melt in the form of jets that flow from calibrated orifices with needles installed in them into a cooled gas medium. Further cooling and crystallization of product melt drops takes place in gas-liquid medium moving towards them. Temperature of the gas-liquid medium is lower than the melting point of the granular material and is (10–30) °C. Final cooling of granules to temperature (20–40) °C is performed in pseudo liquefied layer of granular material. Average speed of gas-fluid medium in working zone makes from 0.5 to 0.8 speed of fine granules of product. Air velocity at pelleting of granulated material ranges from 3 to 5 rate of beginning of fluidization of granules of product.
EFFECT: proposed technical solution allows improving quality of obtained granulated product and efficiency of melt granulation process due to contact of product melt drops with cooled gas-liquid medium.
