FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of production of granules from melt and a device for its realization and it is dealt with chemical industry, in particular with production of granules from melts of different materials, for example, sulfur, resins, non-organic fertilizers, polymers, etc. The method includes delivery of a melt in a container of a granulator, its dispersion directly in the volume of a cooling agent, cooling and gathering of the granular product. At that in the container of the granulator a counter movement of the granulated material and the cooling agent is arranged. In the capacity of the cooling agent they use a liquid having the boiling point, that in which in normal conditions is lower, than the temperature of the fed melt. The indicated temperature of the cooling agent is artificially increased by a pressure buildup in the granulator so, that it should exceed the melt temperature. The device for realization of the method includes a container with a liquid cooling agent, a dispenser and pipelines of delivery and withdrawal of the cooling agent, and also the riser pipe recessed in the container. The height of the riser pipe is chosen so that originating hydrostatic pressure guaranteed inside container(capacity) excess of the temperature of the cooling agent boiling point over the temperature of melt fed from the dispenser. The pipelines for withdrawal of the cooling agent are located on the same side of the container, as the dispenser is placed, and the pipelines for delivery of the cooling agent are located on the counter side of the container to provide traffic of the cooling agent in a counter direction to a granulated material movement. The cooling agent is fed in then amount, that is sufficient for not only to cool the granulated material, but for withdrawal of the pulp with finished product from the container through the riser pipe. The invention allows to improve the quality of granules and reliability of the equipment operation.
