FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control of orientation of spacecraft during correction of its orbit. Method includes turns of spacecraft relative to its axes, orientation of panels of solar batteries by normal of their surface to the Sun by their turning around axis parallel to third axis of spacecraft. Correction engine thrust vector is set on the first axis of the spacecraft, which is oriented along the vector of the spacecraft linear velocity by turning the spacecraft about its second and third axes. For orientation to the Sun, the solar batteries panels are first turned about the first axis of the spacecraft until the second axis is aligned with the plane passing through the spacecraft linear speed vector and the direction to the Sun. Then, the panels are turned about an axis parallel to the third axis of the spacecraft.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of disturbing moments from action of jet of correction engine on elements of spacecraft while maintaining during correction of solar batteries orientation to Sun.
