SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the space equipment. In the spacecraft (SC) orientation method before the initial orientation to the Earth initial mode initiation, the SC second axis deviation from the direction to the Sun in the plane passing through the spacecraft first and second axes, by turning around the third axis according to information from the instrument of orientation to the Sun at an angle, then searching the SC rotation around the direction to the Sun before the Earth hits the field of view of the instrument for orientation to the Earth with subsequent orientation of the first axis of the spacecraft to the centre of the Earth.

EFFECT: technical result of invention is provision of initial orientation of spacecraft to Earth in entire illuminated section of orbit while maintaining orientation of panels of solar batteries on Sun.
