METHOD OF TREATING A GENERALIZED FORM OF MENINGOCOCCAL INFECTION IN CHILDREN WITH REFRACTORY SEPTIC SHOCK AND MULTIPLE ORGAN FAILURE SYNDROME Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61K38/08 A61P31/04

Abstract RU 2712050 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, and concerns a method of treating a generalized form of meningococcal infection in children with refractory septic shock and multiple organ failure syndrome by conducting an integrated basic drug therapy, prolonged replacement renal therapy, where simultaneously with the standard clinical-laboratory examination and drug therapy additional test is carried out to determine endotoxin activity in whole blood, and if the patient has refractory septic shock and if the test results are 0.6 standard units – 0.9 standard units simultaneously with operations of extended replacement renal therapy, a session of polymyxin adsorption is performed, with single-group fresh-frozen plasma filled at the beginning of the extracorporeal circuit, then, repeated test of endotoxin activity determination is performed and with test value from 0.6 standard units up to 0.9 standard units repeated session of polymyxin adsorption is performed.

EFFECT: invention provides higher survival rate and reduced disability of children after the disease.
