FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to steel casting from steel casting ladles with slide shutters for tapping and adjustment of steel casting process. Prior to casting, operation of steel-teeming ladle discharge channel is performed separately by two different refractory materials, one of which is located in lower zone of outlet channel and has refractoriness below 800 °C and smaller packed density, and other is located in upper zone of outlet channel and has fire resistance 1,650 °C and higher bulk density.
EFFECT: invention enables to significantly reduce consumption of scarce chromite concentrate, fused refractory oxides, pre-synthesized spinels and use common and easily manufactured refractory materials without reducing opening degree of steel outlet channel.
