SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a particle for use in animal fodders, comprising: a core consisting essentially of a salt of formula (I): (A-)nMn +, in which A- means an anion selected from a group consisting of 2-hydroxy-4-methylthiobutanoate, methioninate and cysteinate, M denotes divalent calcium, where n equals 2, and a layer containing compound B selected from 2-hydroxy-4-methylthiobutanoic acid (HMTBA) salts thereof, complexes thereof and mixtures thereof, said layer coating said core and weight ratio of said compound B in percentage is based on a salt of formula (I) in the core, from about 10 % to about 40 %, wherein said compound B is not found or is not only in form of a salt of formula (I) and wherein content of organosulphur compounds (TOS) in said particle is greater than 87 wt. %, in particular higher than 88, 89 or 90 wt. %, with respect to total mass of said particle. Also disclosed is a powdered composition for use in animal feed consisting of or containing particles described above. In addition, disclosed is a method of producing particles described above, comprising: a step of spraying onto a solid, consisting essentially of a salt of formula (I), which is defined in claim 1, a composition containing compound B selected from a group consisting of 2-hydroxy-4-methylthiobutanoic acid (HMTBA), wherein the weight of said compound B ranges from about 10 % to about 40 % of the weight of the salt of formula (I) in solid substance to produce said particle, wherein, in particular, said composition also contains water and weight fraction of water in percentage of said composition is from 0.5 to 50.
EFFECT: creation of complexes of acid and metal in solid powder form, having sulfur-organic compounds, in particular HMTBA, is higher than 87 %.
