FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy. Gripping mechanism comprises crossarm with hooks and drive devices for changing distance between hooks, wherein crossarm is made in form of frame with variable geometry, frame contains metal plates connected by means of hinges, at ends of which there are hooks arranged in two rows. Drive devices are two extreme flywheel and middle flywheel, which is intended to change distance between hooks and is fixed on shaft with right and left thread, which is connected to nuts fixed on axes of said hinges, each extreme flywheel is connected to its row of hooks from said two rows of hooks for turning hooks around vertical axis.
EFFECT: wider technological capabilities of the gripping mechanism.
