SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymer chemistry and the technology of thermosetting polymers, specifically to a new class of active diluents for phthalonitrile resins and a thermosetting composition of a phthalonitrile binder containing said diluent. Reactive diluent for phthalonitrile resins includes a bis-benzonitrile monomer with general formula , where X is a divalent substitute selected from the group: , -SO₂-, bivalent alkyl, aryl or oxyaryl substituents, and the cyano group is in meta- or para-position with respect to fragment X. Disclosed is a polymer mixture for producing thermosetting compositions, which includes a reactive diluent, as well as a composition for producing polymer composite materials, including said polymer mixture.

EFFECT: obtaining a new diluent for phthalonitrile monomers, a polymerizable mixture containing a diluent, and a composition containing a polymerizable mixture.
