FIELD: processing and recycling wastes; weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ammunition utilization and is intended for ammunition body cutting from corrosion-resistant steel with powerful explosive substance on octogen or hexogenous basis, having high sensitivity to mechanical effects in order to extract explosive from it. Method involves a process of chemical dissolution of steel of a shell of ammunition along a line of separation throughout the thickness of the body directly to an explosive substance with further separation of the ammunition body into separate parts. Separation line is created by chemical milling through holes in the ammunition body with a prepared etching solution from a mixture of nitric, hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids with addition of iron ions into the solution and holding the solution until complete dissolution of iron in it, note here that, when solution is fed into cutting zone, working temperature is maintained by increasing or decreasing feed rate of pickling solution.
EFFECT: in the field, detonation-free decontamination of ammunition with powerful explosive substance on octogene or hexogenous basis, the body parts of which are made from corrosion-resistant steel, for its further utilization.
