FIELD: ammunition cropping. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in producing of the line of separation to the depth of the notch on the ammunition body by anode dissolution of metal in an electrolytic cell, and by action by working tools outside the electrolytic cell proceeding from the condition of production of stress concentrators initiating a crack in the notch. Before separation of the ammunition body into separate parts stress concentrators are formed in the notch by pressing of sharp tools-teeth of a toothed chain deep into the notch metal, on the outer side of the ammunition body, and then the ammunition body is divided into parts. Production of stress concentrators in the notch is accomplished up to the appearance of microcracks provoking the effect of separation of the ammunition body. Separation of the ammunition body is accomplished by development of torque or bending moment applied to the part to be separated. EFFECT: enhanced safety of ammunition cropping and reduced power consumption. 3 cl, 4 dwg
