FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for electrochemical production of hypochlorites of magnesium and copper, which involves electrolysis of an aqueous solution of magnesium chloride and copper, at electrolyte temperature of 20–25 °C, copper electrodes are supplied with electric current of 0.45–0.6 V. At that, copper electrodes are supplied with pulse current 0.75–1.25 A/dm2, frequency 100–200 Hz, pulse ratio 2–4, with concentration of electrolyte 10–20 % and pH 8–9, with output current of 61–94 %, electrolysis is carried out for 0.25–0.5 hours with addition of methylene blue (C16H18ClN3S) during electrolysis with concentration and its 0.1–0.01 g/l. Technical result is achieved by changing value of specified anode potential with introduction of methylene blue during electrolysis to reduce polarization restrictions of electrochemical dissolution of copper anode due to depolarizing action of methylene blue molecules participating in reduction of power inputs in flowing electrochemical reactions on copper anode surfaces.
EFFECT: higher output of copper anions by 15–20 %.
