FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a low-density polyethylene-based peroxide-cross-linkable composition for making insulation of power cables, preferably medium voltage (6–35 kV). Disclosed is a peroxide-cross-linkable composition for making cable insulation, having high resistance to electrochemical aging, containing the following components, providing high electrochemical resistance of the composition (wt%): organic peroxide selected from butyl-cumyl peroxide and dicumylperoxide (1.2–2.5), pyrolytic silicon dioxide (0.5–2.0), stabilizer of electrochemical aging in form of a mixture of polymer of poly-{[6-[(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)amino]-1,3,5-triazin-2,4-dinyl][(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl)imino]-1,6-hexanediyl[(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl)imino]} and polymer of 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidine-alpha-ethanol-1,4-butanedioic acid in weight ratio of 1:1 (0.1–0.5), polydimethylsiloxanes of medium and high viscosity (0.1–0.3), antioxidants (0.3–0.5), a polyolefin copolymer selected from a copolymer of ethylene-1-butene and ethylene-butylacrylate copolymer (2–20), low-density polyethylene (rest).
EFFECT: high treeing-resistance of the peroxide cross-linking composition.
